Library hosts storytime
The Goldendale Community Library has announced weekly story programs for preschoolers, each Friday morning at 11 a.m. Children ages three to six-years-old may gather with their parents or guardians and listen to a variety of stories, songs, and rhymes.
“Storytimes are an excellent way of encouraging language skills and development, increasing attention span and creativity, and improving coordination,” said librarian Naomi Fisher.
The sessions are geared to last about an hour, Fisher said, adding that large groups are welcome, but encouraged to make advanced arrangements.

Success depends on you
A report by Mindy Blomquist
The Greater Goldendale Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting several events throughout 2009. The success of these events depends upon community support and interest. There are many ways to support events. Financial sponsorships are only one type of support, but more important than that are the supports of volunteerism participation, and attendance.
Supporting events provides positive recognition of your business in the community. Many studies have shown that communities support the businesses that invest in them. Another way of supporting your community is by participating in the many organizations that are here, for example the Goldendale Motorsports Association, the Goldendale Saturday Market Association, the Soroptimists, the Golden Art Guild, the Klickitat County Historical Society, and so many more!
These organizations actively contribute to the community with more than 70 activities and events throughout the year. Interested in finding out about what’s available right here in our community? Well here is your opportunity! Contact the Chamber office or visit the website at www.goldendalechamber.org and we’ll connect you with the organization that you are looking for!
The Chamber would like to extend a special invitation for you to become active in your community through these organizations. Working together, we can accomplish great things for the community.
