No sense to traffic revision by hospital
To The Editor:
I wondering if you could find for me some answers to questions I have about the recent “traffic revision” at the entrance to the hospital at Roosevelt and Allyn.
Personally, I would like to know who was instrumental in this decision, for future voting reference; what the rationale behind this was; and last but not least, how, if at all, it would be possible to “unchange” this revision.
I have only spoken to a handful of people; however, every one of them seems to think this was a poor choice for change.
It would make sense to me if only the cross street had an abundance of traffic or if there had been, say, several accidents or even close calls.
The only reason that comes to mind for me is maybe wanting to make it easier for ambulances to get onto Roosevelt St.
If that is the case, wouldn’t a yield sign or some flashing yellow lights for when the ambulances are exiting make more sense?
Yes, I am biased due to the fact that I live on Roosevelt St. and will have to stop for a lack of traffic more often then some.
However, if I was in an ambulance going back to the hospital I would rather not wait through one more stop sign to get there.

Ease hard times through Santa Cop
To the Editor:
Economic hard times are hitting all of us hard this year and Christmas is going to be tough for many.
Santa Cop, or “Safety Santa,” would like to try to make things just a little bit easier for some families.
The need is great every year and this year is not any exception.
This year we are not only going to provide families in Goldendale with a brighter Christmas, but we are also going to be providing services for a few families in Klickitat.
With only two shopping weekends left before Christmas, we are still in need of toys, clothes, games, books, and wrapping paper.
Every little donation helps us to keep this program going.
You can drop off any unwrapped item and monetary donations at Goldendale Police Department Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Goldendnale Police Department and Goldendale Fire Department thank you for your support.
