Trunk or Treat will go on despite thefts
To the Editor:
We at the General Store truly appreciate the recent article covering the robberies in Goldendale. We lost two very important things at the store that weren’t even ours but were entrusted to us: money that was collected for a spay and neuter fund to help folks with animals that can’t quite afford to have it done, and money collected over the last year from The Main Street Market fees. These fees were to help with the upcoming Halloween Trunk or Treat event, an event to give all the children in the area have a safer Halloween.
Volunteers for the Trunk or Treat event park their cars on Main Street and hand out candy to trick or treaters. This is a big affair put together for the enjoyment of children and grown kids alike. You need only visit Main Street to see the excitement on the faces of trick or treaters as they go from car to car gathering their goodies. So please, let’s show these thieves that we can come back even bigger and better than before! Trunk or Treat can and will continue to be a safe, fun, friendly community event that we can pass on for generations to come. Donations for candy, cash, and help are badly needed. Please help by bringing your donation to Sterling Savings Bank or the General Store. Thank you.
