City water rules don't work
To the Editor:
I was in shock when I received a letter from the City of Goldendale on the new rules on the water meter installation or removal or do nothing. I own a piece of property in the Goldendale city limits. It does not have a house on it so in the winter I normally shut the water off. It cost $25 to shut it off and $25 to turn it on. Not anymore! If you shut the water off it is still $25 to turn it off plus a $25 each and every month while off. So I said take the meter out. I was informed it would be $2000 to reinstall the meter.
I notice that Goldendale has as much political distress as New York City. As the taxes kept getting bigger in all phases I started to think what next could happen to take money from the people to pay the bills. I am very glad I left Goldendale. The mayor and the city council are just like the president: spend, spend, and if all else fails, spend some more. I moved from Goldendale last year, and I am very happy where I am now.

Help to get pictures to family
To the editor:
I have family picture albums from Maggie Brokaw. I would like to get them into the hands of the family. I know that some of the children in these pictures are Molly Smith and her sisters, but I have no married names or addresses for them.
I know that other pictures are connected with Dale Brokaw and his family, but I do not have any information of him or his family.
My phone number is in the Goldendale directory. Please contact me with any information that could help me get these pictures to the right hands.
