What happened to the flags?
To the Editor:
Only two weeks after the tremendous show of pride and respect for our fallen brother, Mark Coleman, the national day of remembrance and respect (Memorial Day) for the millions who made the ultimate sacrifice (which now includes MSG Coleman) was marred by the failure to lower the U.S. flag to half-staff until noon by officials in Goldendale. The City Hall, the Klickitat Court House, the Goldendale Fire Station, and the DSHS flags were not placed at half-staff, as required by the Flag Code. Only the American Legion’s Flag showed the proper respect. How soon they forget.
