James Lawrence Morehead

     James Lawrence Morehead, 68, of Klickitat, died May 4, 2008.
     He was born in The Dalles, March 21, 1940, to Irvin John and Hazel (Lee) Morehead.
     Jim was raised in Klickitat and graduated high school in 1959.
     He joined the U.S. Army, and served in Germany before his honorable discharge in September of 1967. Jim continued his education at Columbia Basin College in Pasco and earned his associate’s degree. He worked at the look out in Trout Lake keeping watch over the forest. Jim made his home in both Klickitat and the Tri Cities, moving back and forth over the years. He worked in construction and as an electrical estimator and traveled often with his job.
     On Aug. 22, 2004, Jim married lifelong friend Linda Ward. In his high school years, he enjoyed sports; Jim also enjoyed woodworking, hunting and collecting model trucks.
     He was preceded in death by his father, Irvin Morehead and his brother, Bill Morehead.
     Survivors include his mother, Hazel Morehead of Klickitat; wife, Linda Morehead of Klickitat; son, Joe and Sheri Schefstrom of Deer Park; step-daughter Loni Carpenter; son, David and Debi Morehead of Walla Walla; daughter, Jaymean and Tyler Dashner of San Antonio, Texas; four grandchildren and three great- grandchildren.
     A funeral service was held May 10, at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Goldendale.
Columbia Hills Memorial Chapel handled arrangements.
