Kathleen Jane (Kay) Story Campbell

Kathleen Jane Story Campbell, 70, of Goldendale, died May 18, 2008, at her home.
Kathleen Jane Story Campbell, fondly known as “Kay,” was born to parents Edna Elnora (Fowler) and Walter Clair Story in Goldendale, on Sept. 26, 1937.
In 1955, Kay graduated from Goldendale High School and on June 12, of that year she married Marion Robert Campbell.
The couple were parents to five sons. Kay was a familiar face at the Centerville post office, as she served as postmaster there from 1976 until 1998.
Kay’s life revolved around her children and grandchildren. Anything her grandchildren were involved in, she loved and supported.
She enjoyed cooking, sewing and knitting, and also liked flower gardening, horse races and playing the piano. Family get-togethers were something Kay always looked forward to.
She was preceded in death by her son, David Campbell in 1979, and her sister, Barb Byers in 2000.
Survivors include her husband, Marion Campbell of Goldendale; sons, Ron and Teresa Campbell, Ken Campbell, Bill and Renea, all of Goldendale, Jim and Debbie Campbell of Valley Ford; brother, Bud Story and wife, Linda of Goldendale; 10 grandchildren and eight beloved great- grandchildren.
A graveside service was held at Mt. View Cemetery in Goldendale on May 23, with Pastor Ken Akins officiating. Columbia Hills Memorial Chapel handled arrangements.
