Vivian Briggs

Vivian Briggs, 89, former resident of Goldendale, died May 25, 2008.
She was born in Baudette, Minn., on July 31, 1918, to Hedvig (Olson) and William Dahlquist.
Vivian was devoted to her Church, her husband and her family.
She loved all children and for many years held Bible stories in her home for neighborhood children.
She loved to sew and made all of her clothes and most of her children’s clothing. She made many quilts and loved to paint pictures. Each of her children and most of her grandchildren have at least one of her paintings.
She loved flowers and always had a beautiful garden. Roses were her favorite.
Having her family around her was the most important thing in her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Merrill, one daughter, Nancy, and two brothers, James and Owen Dahlquist.
Survivors include one sister, Mona Anderson; six children, Gordon, Jean Downs, Berniece and Kelly Clifton, Dwight and Gloria, Kathy and Bill Gonzales, Anita and Dan Enslow; 18 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Services were held at Columbia Hills Memorial Chapel in Goldendale, on June 2.
Burial followed at Mt. View Cemetery in Goldendale.
