Barbara Lucile Starr

     Barbara Lucile Starr, 71, of Carson, died July 17, 2008, at the Hood River Care Center.   
Barbara was born April 4, 1937 in Fromberg, Mont., to Rex and Lucile (Kraft) Browning. She was raised and educated in Montana, graduating from high school in Great Falls in 1955. Following high school, she attended business college in Wenatchee.
     She married Charles Sabourin, they later divorced. She married James Starr in 1960, and moved to Lyle, in 1964.
     Barbara had worked in several fruit packing houses for more than 30 years retiring from Diamond Central in Odell, at age 65. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, music and bird watching.
She was preceded in death by two children, Katherine Lynn and James Patrick, and a sister, Leona Hutchison.
     She is survived by her sons, Dale Louis Sabourin and his wife Karen of Lyle, William Sabourin of Lyle, John Duane Starr and his wife Toni of Centerville, Jerry Lynn Starr of Salem, and Joseph Edward Starr and Kenneth Allen Starr both of Carson; brother, Loren Earl Browning and his wife, Pat of George; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
     Arrangements are under the direction of Anderson’s Tribute Center.
