Erma Williams

     Erma Williams, 75, of Mabton, died, May 3, 2008, at Kadlec Medical Center.
     She was born June 23, 2008 to William Peter and Alma (Trumbo) Anderson in Goldendale.
     As a young woman, Erma was a member and officer of the Goldendale Rainbow Assembly.
     After high school, she worked at the National Bank of Commerce until she married. On Jan. 8, 1955, she married Earl Williams in Goldendale. The Williams’ made their home in Mabton.
     She attended the Grace Brethren Church of Mabton.
     She enjoyed crafts, beading and customizing greeting cards. Erma was a member of the Mabton Rebekah Lodge, the Forcefulfew Club, a club that no longer exists, in which women organized projects for the community, including Santa’s Workshop. She was also a Campfire leader and a member of the Friends of the Library.
     She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Earl.
     Survivors include her daughter, Earla Ann Williams of Malaysia, one brother, Ervin Anderson and wife, Linda of Goldendale; and numerous nieces and nephews.
     Funeral service will be held May 8, at 11 a.m. at the Smith Funeral Home, in Sunnyside, with burial to follow at the Mabton Cemetery.
     Those wishing to honor her memory may contribute to the Mabton Volunteer Fire Department.
