John Warren "Skip" Carsey
John Warren Carsey, known as Skip, 69, of Goldendale, died May 25, 2008.
He was born Aug. 30, 1938, in Portland, to Wayne and Marion (Holmes) Carsey.
In 1945, the Carsey family moved to Goldendale where Wayne and Marion started Goldendale Auto Supply, which is now Napa Auto Parts.
Skip graduated from Goldendale High School in 1956.
He served in the U.S. Army from Oct. 24, 1961, until Oct. 19, 1963. Upon leaving the military he went to work in his family’s business, working there until his retirement in 2001.
On Aug. 15, 1964, he married the love of his life, Norma Jean Howell (only second to his John Deere tractor). The most important thing to Skip was his wife, his daughters and beautiful grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Norma of Goldendale; daughters, Lisa Blankenship and her husband Tony of Gresham, and Lori Carsey of Goldendale; two grandchildren Parker Wayne Blankenship and Bryndon; and sister, Karri and husband Ed Valente of Lake Oswego.
A private interment was held but a Celebration of Life will be held by the family at a later date.
