Lorraine Alice Robinson
Lorraine Alice Robinson, 78, died June 1, 2008, at her home in Klickitat.
She was born Dec. 9, 1929, to Charles and Louise (Pigdeon) Portner in Platte, S.D.
Lorraine was raised in Bingen and graduated from Columbia High School in White Salmon.
She raised her children in Klickitat County.
In addition to being a wonderful homemaker, she also worked as an educational assistant in Trout Lake, and retired from Washington State Employment Division in Bingen.
Lorraine’s children and grandchildren were the delight of her life. She faithfully attended many rodeos, fairs, basketball, volleyball, baseball and softball games to support those kids.
She enjoyed her home along the Klickitat River, gardening, taking care of the horses and hummingbirds.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Robinson; parents, Charles and Louise Portner; brothers, Pete, Joe, Lloyd and Charlie Portner; sisters, Viola Shum and Fonda Engel; and grandson, Cody Edward Holly.
Survivors include her children, Linda Hubbard, Karen Johnson, Dave Holly and Judy Fink; step-children Joanie Brown, Stacey Robinson and Gail Nolan; sisters, Rose Schmidt, Lily Bringer, Adele Mansfield and Betty Kessinger; numerous grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 4 pm on Saturday, June 7, at Gardner Funeral Home in White Salmon, with inurnment at the White Salmon Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the charity of one’s choice or any of the organizations Lorraine supported, such as the Klickitat Little League. Klickitat School Athletic Fund, Rodeo Bible Camp or Hospice in Goldendale.
