John C. Biggs

     John C. Biggs, 84, of Camano Island, died June 3, 2008, in Stanwood.
     He was born April 13, 1924 in Portland, to Roscoe and Marie (Lynnette) Biggs.
     John served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
     John and his wife LaVerne have lived on Camano Island since 1990. He was a member of St. Cecelia Catholic church in Stanwood.
     John served as a volunteer firefighter for Camano Island, and was a member for the American Leigon Post 92, in Stanwood as well as a member of the HAM radio club, which was a hobby he enjoyed very much.
     John’s passion in life was aviation, electronics and gadgets.
     He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nora; son, Michael, and daughter-in-law, Martha.
Survivors include his wife of 20 years, LaVerne Wilke Biggs of Stanwood; two daughters, Kathleen Graham of Kent, and Carole Owens of Wenatchee; two sisters, Jean Croteau of Renton, and Louise Hoffeditz of Milwaukie; three grandchildren, Melanie, Tonya and John Anthony; four great-grandchildren, Shayla, McKanie, Cassidy and Sydney.
     Memorial Services will be held Saturday, June 14, at 3:30 p.m. at Gilbertson Funeral Home, located 27001 88th Ave NW, Stanwood, Wash.
