Lois Churchill Crow Finn

     Lois Churchill Crow Finn, 83, of Paterson, died Aug. 9, 2008, at Prosser Memorial Hospital.
Lois was born on Dec. 4, 1924, in The Dalles, the oldest of three daughters, to John and Hazel (Sanders) Churchill.
     She spent her early childhood in Sixprong. Her parents moved to Alderdale where she received 10 years of education, later graduating from Prosser High School, class of 1942.
     Lois and Robert Crow were married in Seattle, in 1944. They had two sons Dan and Steve.
Lois married Ben Finn in 1973, in Reno. She lived in Paterson when the Corps of Engineers bought the area to make way for the John Day Dam Lake. Unable to face the end of Paterson, Lois worked with the Pryor Family to establish a new site on higher ground where it now resides.
     Lois was a third generation postmaster and was the Paterson postmaster for 30 years. She also owned the Paterson Store at the same time. Lois was a 50 year member of the Grandview V.F.W. Auxiliary 6929, also member of the Moose Lodge in West Richland, and the Eagles in Kennewick.
She is preceded in death by parents, grandson, Mark and sister Phyllis.
     Survivors include her sons, Dan and wife, Sandy; Steve and wife, Judy; stepson, Michael Finn; two grandsons; one granddaughter; three great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter and one sister, Lucille.
     Viewing and visitation will be held on Friday, Aug. 15, from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home, Grandview.
     Graveside memorial service will be held Aug. 16, at 2:30 p.m. at the Paterson Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers those wishing to honor her memory may contribute to the Paterson Memorial Cemetery at P.O. Box 155 Paterson, WA 99345.
