Roy I. Hostetler
Roy I. Hostetler, 91, died Sept. 1, 2008, in Vancouver.
He was born Sept. 9, 1916, in Asotin, to William and Hazel Hostetler.
A lover of animals, Roy became a Doctor of Veterinary Science. He had a private practice in Goldendale for 12 years and retired from Washington State as the extension veterinarian. Roy also retired from the United States Air Force Reserve as a Lt. Colonel in 1976.
He was devoted to both his family and his friends, was an avid hunter and fisherman, and a member of the Masons.
In 1941, he married the love of his life, Vera Taylor.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents and son, Dale.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Vera of Vancouver; two sons, Bill of Corvallis, and Jim of Battle Ground; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Roy’s life was held Sept. 9, at his son, Jim’s home in Battle Ground.
The family suggests donations be made to Hospice Southwest.
