Clarence Keith Jensen
Clarence Keith Jensen, 83 of Bickleton, died Sept. 4, 2008.
Keith was born Oct. 15, 1924 in Ellensburg, to Hazel and Jacob Jensen.
A lifetime resident of Bickleton, Keith attended Bickleton schools and graduated from North Bend High School.
He was drafted into the Army one day after his high school graduation and served in the European theatre as a sergant in the 14th infantry. He was a true patriot to his country.
While serving in Germany, he met the love of his life Vera Margaret Josephine Weiss. He and Vera were married Feb. 8, 1949. They moved to Bickleton shortly after their marraige where they farmed and logged.
Keith enjoyed farming, horses, cattle, logging and golfing. He was a member of the Alder Creek Pioneer Association where he was past president; the Bickleton Fire Department, Bickleton Presbyterian Church, and past member of the Washington Wheat growers Association, as well as a former school board member. He was instrumental in forming the Hilltoper’s 4-H Club.
Keith was preceded in death by his brother Kenneth Jensen; sons, James Peter and Russell Karl; and daughter, Mary Louise.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Vera; sons, Larry, and John and Colleen Jenses of Bickleton; daughters, Gabrielle and David Kramer, of Las Vegas, Irene and Mike Schmidt of Sequim, Sally and Dale Luiten of Medical Lake and Sue and Dennis Key of Yakima; a brother, William and Margie Jensen of Boise, Idaho; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Keith’s life was held Sept. 13 at the Bickleton Presyterian Church.
