June Johnson

June Johnson, 87, died Sept. 26, 2008, in The Dalles.
She was born May June Johnson to Jess and Agnes (Fahlenkamp) Bradsteet on June 18, 1921, in Philip, S.D.
June moved to Goldendale as a young child and graduated from Goldendale High School in the late 1930s. In 1961 she married Edward Johnson and because he was in the military, the couple lived in many places. They retired in 1975 and moved to Rockaway Beach, Ore., where she operated the Rockaway Nursery from 1975 until 1990, at which time she returned to Goldendale.
June enjoyed caring for houseplants and working in the nursery. She also loved baking and especially enjoyed the holidays.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ed; brothers Jess, Jim, Russ and Philip; and sister Violet. She is survived by sons, Terry Rutledge of Lyle, Pat Rutledge of Goldendale and Philip Rutledge of Arlington; and brother Dean Bradsteet of Walla Walla.
A memorial graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 3 , at Mt. View Cemetery in Goldendale.
Columbia Hills Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
