Nellie M. Hoctor
Nellie M. Hoctor, 78, of Goldendale died Sept. 24, 2008, in The Dalles.
She was born in Wapato, July 11, 1930, to Mable and Roy Johnson.
Nellie grew up in various locations of California, Oregon and Washington.
After the death of her mother, she moved to Goldendale and lived with her sister Dorothy and her family. Nellie graduated from Goldendale High School.
Nellie met a local farmer, Donald Hoctor, and in December of 1949 they were married in Goldendale. She and her husband farmed for 33 years in east Klickitat County and raised two daughters.
Nellie enjoyed her garden and yard and the four seasons which the Goldendale area offers.
She was an active member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Women’s Altar Society.
Nellie was preceded in death by her husband, Don; her parents, Mable and Roy Johnson; four brothers, Bill Johnson, Bob Johnson, Eddie Johnson and Tom Johnson; one sister Dorothy Bridgefarmer; and grandson Matt Enyeart.
Survivors include daughter Cynthia and her husband Kirby Enyeart of Chandler, Ariz. and Kathleen Fortino of Jacksonville, Fla.; grandchildren include Jason Enyeart of San Clemente, Calif., Joseph Enyeart of Maricopa, Ariz.; Fred Muhly, Mike Muhly, Katie Muhly and son Joe, and Kim Fortino and son Benjamin, who all reside in Jacksonville; a sisters Jane Parmentier of Naches, and Nancy Svendsen of Oakridge; numerous nieces and nephews and four greatgrandchildren
A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 10, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Goldendale.
Recitation of the Rosary will be held the preceding night at 7 p.m. at the church.
