Harley Eugene Hand
Harley Eugene Hand, 75, died Oct. 3, 2008, in Home Valley.
He was born to Hobert and Florence (Tucker) Hand in Pomeroy, Feb. 15, 1933.
As a young boy, Harley left Pomeroy and moved with his family to White Salmon. He graduated from Columbia High School in 1951.
After serving in the United States Army, Harley returned to Washington, this time settling in Centerville, where he ran a farm chemical business that catered to farms in Washington and Oregon.
On Sept. 20, 1986, he married Noreen Robirds in Carson.
Harley was a member of both the Carson and Goldendale Kingdom Halls.
He loved spending time with his family and always enjoyed his work. He liked camping and jet skiing and also spent his time raising miniature schnauzers.
He was preceded in death by sons, Steven Hand and Regginald Turner; daughter, Rachele L. Turner and one greatgrandson.
Survivors include his wife, Noreen Hand of Carson; son, Harley Robert Hand of Goldendale; daughter, Cynthia Marie Akins of Goldendale; son, Rickey F. Turner of Carson; son, Harley W. Turner of Idaho; daughter, Ashlea LaZelle of Carson; brothers, Jerry Hand, Chuck Hand and Roger Hand; and 19 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Oct. 10, at 2:30 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Goldendale.
Gardner Funeral Home handled cremation arrangements.
