David “Doc” Holladay
David “Doc” Holladay, 55, of Goldendale, died Nov. 29, 2008, in Goldendale.
Dave was born in N. Hollywood, Calif., July 26, 1953. His father’s construction business eventually took them to Estacada, Ore. He met Joanne (his future wife) in the fifth grade and they were married on April 28, 1972. They raised four children. They were together for 36 years.
Dave loved the outdoors and taking his family camping, fishing and stargazing. He was an avid hunter.
He made commercial construction his trade and worked on many projects in the Portland area, including Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, the Max rail line and the convention center. He worked his way up to general foreman and quality control.
In September, Dave and Joanne returned to Goldendale after spending four years in Idaho, working at Project Patch Youth Ranch.
Survivors include his wife, Joanne Holladay of Goldendale; a son, Robert Holladay of Portland; daughters, Dennise Keitges of Portland, Sarah Vandyne of Richland, Pamela Holladay of Ridgefield; and three grandchildren.
A celebration of his life will be held at the Goldendale Seventh Day Adventist Church on Dec. 6, at 2:30 p.m. Columbia Hills Memorial Chapel handled cremation arrangements.
