Arlo Jaggers
Arlo Jaggers, 89, died at his home in Centerville, on Dec. 17, 2008.
He was born to Joseph Roscoe Jaggers and Pearl Caroline Morrison Jaggers on March 20, 1919, in Weiser, Idaho.
As a boy and young man, Arlo raised sheep, cattle and farmed with his father. They also built many roads in Idaho with their many mule teams. Arlo worked as an independent truck driver with his sons as well as other companies nearly all his life. Arlo enjoyed working on machinery and teaching his sons the same.
He liked to sing and dance and in his later years found great pleasure in tinkering, gardening, country drives and playing with his dogs. Arlo enjoyed nightly conversations with friend Robin Thomson, who was like a son to him. Arlo and Robin had lots of good times together. Family was very important to Arlo, and he loved family get-togethers.
He was preceded in death by first wife, Mary Weaver Jaggers, and children Erlene Crosby and Jim Jaggers; second wife Sharon Lehto and stepson Joey Kay.
Survivors include his children, Bonnie Ann Paxton of Portland, Bud Jaggers and wife Gwen, of Vancouver, Jerry Jaggers and wife Jean, of Goldendale; Bob Jaggers and wife Claudette, of Portland, daughter-in-law Sue Jaggers, of Goldendale; stepchildren John Drago of Toledo, Ore., Jim Drago of Salem, Ore., Jerianne Warren of Benton City, and Junior Drago and wife Dori, of Boardman, Ore., and 61 grandchildren and step-grandchildren.
In keeping with Arlo’s wishes, there will be no formal memorial services, however, those wishing to honor his memory may make a donation to the Celilo Cancer Center, 1800 E. 19th, The Dalles, OR 97085, or the American Cancer Society, 7325 W. Deschutes Suite A, Kennewick, WA 99336.
