Albert Mason
Albert Lloyd Mason died Dec. 30, 2008, at his home in Klickitat, at the age of 76.
He was born May 15, 1932 to Edith (Heitman) and Lloyd Mason.
After graduating from LaCenter High School in LaCenter, Albert joined the Navy, serving his country honorably for four years. When his military service was complete, Albert lived in Washington, Bakersfield, Calif., and Ridgecrest, Calif. He worked as an electrical tech on China Lake Naval Weapon Center. Later, Albert retired to Inyokern, Calif., then to Klickitat, in 1986. Albert enjoyed mining for gold and listening to his scanner.
He was preceded in death by a son, Rick Mason in 1988, and wife, Joan in 1998.
Survivors include children, Lloyd H. Mason of Inyokern, Vicky Mason of Klickitat, Jenise Cook of Ridgecrest, Calif., Joe E. Mason of Klickitat; brother, Robert Mason of Battleground; brother-in-law, Harvey Salmon of Vancouver, B.C.; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Jan. 7, at Columbia Hills Memorial Chapel in Goldendale, followed by a memorial at the Klickitat School at 3 p.m, for all his friends and family.
