Erin Patton
Erin Jean Patton, 42, passed peacefully with her family by her side Feb. 19, 2009.
Erin was born Jan. 10, 1967, to Ed Patton and Jackie Bacon (Patton) at Memorial Hospital in Yakima. Throughout the course of her life, she shined a special light that touched everyone that ever had the privilege to meet her. She loved the great outdoors which included camping, fishing and long, vigorous walks.
Erin had a special affection for animals as she spent much of her adolescence riding horses. One couldn't help but delight in her presence as her laugh was contagious and she hugged with abandon. An athlete, Erin swam, ran track, played tennis and competed in several marathons.
Erin's greatest joy was her daughter, Sidney Alexandra Hartley, a.k.a "Sid the Kid." Sidney especially loved her mother's hair and "sunflower" eyes. Erin was a compassionate soul with a gift for the personal, handwritten note.
Erin left her family at peace knowing their special girl is dancing joyfully in a beautiful field of daisies.
Erin is survived by her daughter Sidney Hartley of Stevenson, father Ed Patton of Yakima, mother Jackie Bacon of La Grande, Ore., sister Lolah and Alan Lee of Goldendale, brother Dan and Kacy Patton of Chico, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of Erin's life will be held Saturday, Feb. 28, at 2 p.m. at American Legion in Carson. Following the services there will be a potluck meal.
