Karl Edwin Evanson
Karl Edwin Evenson, 74, died May 1, 2009.
He was born Jan. 4, 1935, in Portland, to parents Anna and Edwin Evenson.
Karl was raised in Oregon and Washington and graduated in 1953, from Goldendale High School. Married in September, 1953, to Amzell (Penny) Woodward, his high school sweetheart, they lived and raised their two daughters in the Portland/ Beaverton area.
Karl worked at Tektronix for close to 15 years and then left Oregon to start the current family business of Friendly Acres Trailer Park in 1971, in Yuma, Ariz. Over the years Karl started and participated in other successful businesses, and started to enjoy his passion for traveling and seeing new places all over the world. Karl enjoyed his family and friends and lived an active and full life.
Karl was preceded in death by his father Edwin and his mother Anna Evenson.
He is survived by his wife Amzell ( Penny) Woodward of Yuma, Ariz.; daughters Teresa Poland of Yuma, and Belinda Alnassar of Kuwait; grandchildren, Michell Olmos of Phoneix, Ariz.; Heather Poland of Yuma, Ariz.; and Alia, Abdul Hameed, and Dawood Alnassar of Kuwait. He also has two great-grandchildren.
The family will host a Celebration of Karl's life on Aug. 8, 2009, in Bend, Oregon.
