Paul Dean Goodwin
Paul Dean Goodwin, 74, of Goldendale, died Friday, June 26, 2009 at Highgate House.
Dean was a retired telephone wire installation technician for Western Electric for 37 years. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting, playing softball and especially baseball. He loved his family and friends and spending time with them playing cribbage and pinochle. He enjoyed wintering in Mesa with his companion, Joy.
He is survived by his children, Vicki (Frank) Chrisman and Karen (Pat) Peterson, all of Yakima, and Derek Goodwin of Husum; his life partner, Joy Dupue of Goldendale, and her daughter Bobbi McCord and husband Bert of Canby, Oregon; sisters Lila Walling of Murray, Idaho, and Beverly (John) Yaryan of Mead; and six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Joan Goodwin.
He was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters: Ada Kelly, Albert Goodwin, Elmer Goodwin, Nila Goodwin, Clyde Goodwin, and Elsie Fowler, and a son-in-law, Rod Chronister.
A celebration of his life was held July 2, at Langevin Mussetter Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Highgate House Alzheimer's Fund, c/o Langevin Mussetter Funeral Home, which is entrusted with the arrangements.
