Virginia Fahlenkamp
Virginia (Ahola) Fahlenkamp, 92, of Goldendale, died at her home, Nov. 28, 2009.
She was born March 15, 1917, in Centerville, to Lillian Mayme (Lande) and Webster Ahola. Since Finnish was spoken at home, she learned to speak English as child. Virginia was the historian in her family and met Sam Hill when she was a young girl.
Preceding her in death are her husband John, son Johnny Fahlenkamp, and her good friend Rudolph "Buck" Nakens.
Survivors include her daughters, Vernice Dove of Centerville, and Doris Seward of Goldendale; her sons Walt Fahlenkamp and Richard Fahlenkamp, both of Goldendale; her daughter at heart Mary Lee Glover; 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild with another on the way.
A graveside service was held Dec. 2 at 1 p.m. at Mountain View Cemetery in Goldendale. Columbia Hills Memorial Chapel handled arrangements.
