Blanche Irene Davidson
Blanche Irene Davidson, 87, died in Goldendale on Dec. 1, 2009.
She was born Dec. 5, 1921, in Salinas, Kansas to Fred and grace (Folson) Weis.
During the Depression, she moved with her family to the Albany, Ore., area where she finished high school. Throughout her life, Blanche worked as a cook in various places. In 1965 she settled in Goldendale.
Blanche enjoyed crocheting baby blankets and afghans. She was a member of the local chapter of AARP and Columbus Avenue Baptist Church, where she loved and was loved by her church family. Blanche served as president of the Goldendale Senior Center and was awarded Goldendale Volunteer of the Year.
She was preceded in death by husband Wilbur Davidson; son Steven Campa; brothers Lester, Charles and Lee Weis; and sisters Orrill Straight, Miriam McClanahan and Ethel Brown.
Survivors include her children, Karen Wilhelm of Orient, Timothy Daniels of San Diego, Calif., David Daniels of San Diego, Calif., and John Daniels of Houston, Texas; stepchildren Lester Davidson of Battle Ground and Jim Davidson of West Port; brother Philip Weis of Oregon City, Ore.; sister Margaret Corrick of Albany, Ore.; 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held Dec. 4, at Mountain View Cemetery in Goldendale. Columbia Hills Memorial Chapel handled arrangements.
