Doris June Lee
Doris June Lee, 86, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother died peacefully in Phoenix, Ariz., on Dec. 28, 2009.
Doris was born Jan. 25, 1923, in Menlo, to Ted and Dora Carlson. She spent her childhood in Port Angeles, where she graduated from high school (1941), and met and married Robert. E. Lee (1943) and raised two sons.
After her husband's graduation from the State patrol Academy the family moved to Goldendale in 1958.
Doris' favorite occupation was being a mom and a homemaker, but that did not deter her from running for and being elected as Goldendale City treasurer in 1963. She totally enjoyed her work, especially the people who served the city for two full terms/eight years. She loved to travel and achieved her personal goal of visiting each of the 50 states.
Moving to Phoenix in 2003, she enjoyed the slower pace of life spending her days crocheting, and visiting with family and friends who she nurtured with unquestionable love. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Doris is survived by her sons Jim Lee, of Phoenix, Ariz., Robert. E. Lee Jr. and wife Brenda, of Arlington, Texas; grandchildren, Lana Carter and husband Rick, of Burleson, Texas, Ted Lee and wife Nichole of Hebron, Kent.; and great-grandchildren Ben, Averie, and Isaac Carter.
A private entombment ceremony will be held at a later date at the Mount Pleasant cemetery in Port Angeles.
