Margaret Ann Shupe
Margaret Ann Shupe, 72, of Goldendale, died Jan. 13, 2010, in Goldendale.
She was born Aug. 14, 1937 in Leona, Wisc., to Patricia (Starks) and Virgil Lickliter.
As a young girl, Margaret moved from Wisconsin to Glenwood and then to Goldendale where she attended elementary school and graduated from Goldendale High School. On July 9, 1954 Margaret married Don “Ross” Shupe. She worked as a clerk at several businesses in Goldendale and also in the voting booths. Margaret helped her husband Ross move rodeo stock for Frank Beard. Margaret enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, painting and rodeos.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ross; daughter Laurie Shupe Bennett Braskett; son Bill Shupe; brothers Johnny and Jim Lickliter and granddaughter Darcie Shupe.
She is survived by sons Don Shupe of Wapato, Bob Shupe of Vancouver and Larry Shupe of Goldendale; brother Jim Lickliter of Spokane; sisters Barbie Thomsen and Ganey Shupe both of Goldendale; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Jan. 18 at Mt. View Cemetery in Goldendale. Columbia Hills Memorial Chapel handled arrangements.
