Mary Jo Bauerle
Mary Jo Bauerle was born in Des Moines, Iowa on July 11, 1950. She died in Goldendale on May 8, 2010, at the age of 59.
After graduating from high school in Des Moines, Mary Jo moved to Tacoma and met a young man who was stationed at Fort Lewis. She and Kim Bauerle were married in Spanaway, Sept. 11, 1971. The following year the couple moved to Michigan where they lived for several years before returning to the Gorge area and settling in Glenwood in 1979.
Mary Jo worked as a caregiver to many people in Glenwood and donated a lot of time to Army family support programs for which she received awards and recognition. She enjoyed watching “Perry Mason” and the cooking channel and liked visiting friends and neighbors. Mary Jo loved cooking and her laugh could light up a room. She loved people but most of all adored her grandchildren, who were everything to her.
Mary Jo will be missed by her husband Kim Bauerle of Glenwood; daughter Kim Nigg and her husband Donavon of Vancouver; daughter Davina Feller of Hood River; son-in-law Allen Feller, Jr. of Glenwood; and grandchildren Taylor and Whitney Feller of Glenwood.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 14, at Mt. Adams Cemetery in Glenwood. Gardner Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
