Charlene gave birth to four beautiful children during her lifetime in mortality. Charlene always loved teenagers and many thought of her as a friend and surrogate mother. Charlene's home was always open to kids who needed help or a place to stay. Charlene had many friends wherever she went during her lifetime.
In 1987 Charlene and Kevin moved to Centerville and lived in the same house where she spent so much time growing up. It was in that home where Charlene lived the rest of her life. It was there that Charlene loved her family with a love that even death could not extinguish.
During her life Charlene worked several different jobs. Her first job was working as a counselor for emotionally disturbed teen aged girls at the Gilchrest Group Home in Yakima. Charlene also worked for the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services as a Child Protective Services worker. Charlene's last full time job outside of the home was working for the State of Washington Department of Corrections as a Community Corrections Officer.
In 1990 Charlene began experiencing chronic pain that would stay with her for the rest of her life. In 2002 Charlene was finally diagnosed with an uncommon type of cancer; Multiple Myeloma. Charlene went bravely through chemotherapy for many years before leaving mortality.
