Patricia Joan Sheridan
Patricia Joan Sheridan, 66, of Olympia, passed away Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010, at OHSU in Portland surrounded by sons Patrick and Joseph and family and friends.
Patricia was born May 9, 1944 in Philadelphia, Pa. to Alfred and Matilda (Tilly) Walker. The family later relocated to Seattle. She was a graduate of Bishop Blanchet High School and Seattle University.
Patricia married Thomas Michael Sheridan Aug. 30, 1969, and was married for 38 years until his death in 2008. The couple purchased their farm in Olympia, in 1976 where they raised their boys. Patricia was a stay at home mom until the boys entered school, where upon she returned to teaching at Tenino Elementary. Following many fulfilling years teaching, Patricia took the position as the office manager at the Washington State Investment Board in Olympia, a position she held for 18-plus years until her medical retirement in 2008. Patricia loved her position at WSIB, working with many wonderful people over the years that she considered family more than co-workers.
Patricia was an active member of St. Michael’s Parish and was a 4-H leader for more than 20 years.
In 2008, Patricia relocated to Goldendale and subsequently to the Oregon’s Veterans Home in The Dalles. In her short time in Goldendale and The Dalles, she met many wonderful people and established lasting friendships. Patricia loved spending time with friends and family, giving unconditional love to anyone that needed it. She was especially proud of and loved her two granddaughters Payton and Hayden.
Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Michael Sheridan; her parents Alfred and Matilda Walker.
She is survived by her sons, Joseph Sheridan of Goldendale, and Patrick Sheridan and daughter-in law KC, granddaughters Payton and Hayden of Olympia; sister Barbara Houston, and husband, Russ, of Spanaway; and many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at St. Michael’s Parish 1208 11th Ave. SE, Olympia, on Thursday, Sept. 9, at noon.
Funeral Arrangements are being handled through Linde Family Funeral Service in Lakewood.
