Roller Derby gals battle it out for a good cause

Getting ready: Trajickly Malishus, aka Maggie Tatro Shields, along with members of her team, the Rodeo City Rollergirls, take to the track Saturday to help raise funds for the 2012 Rodeo Bible Camp. The Rollergirls will compete with the Hermiston Melon Smashers, beginning at 6 p.m.

Watch out Goldendale, War Paint Lindy and Ankle Biter are coming to town! Roller derby is coming to Goldendale Saturday, March 24 and the public is invited to experience what some say is the world’s fasting growing sport. Competition between the Rodeo City Rollergirls, out of Ellensburg, and the Hermiston Melon Smashers will take place at the Goldendale High School gym, doors open at 5 p.m., action starts at 6 p.m.

The event is a fund raiser for the Goldendale Community Bible Rodeo Camp with $10 admission for adults, $5 for ages six through 12 and under six get in free.
