Simmons sisters design, sew and model outfits for 4-H Sewing Expo

Two Goldendale girls made the most of what might be a once in a lifetime opportunity when they completed their 4-H sewing projects earlier this month. Faith (14) and Alyssa (12) Simmons participated in the “Sewing and Stitchery Expo” at the Puyallup fairgrounds March 1-4, modeling their own designed and sewn outfits.

The girls earned their right to join 18 other girls who participated in the star designer project when their sewing projects received awards at last year’s Puyallup Fair. The project linked the 4-Hers with a professional designer, in the Simmons’ case, Cheryl Kuczek, of Seattle.
