A day’s work on the Klickitat Trail

Work Party: Volunteers work along a portion of the 31-mile Klickitat Trail, Sunday. Jim, Dan, Roger and Jack take an opportunity for a breather.

Five cheerful faces met at Pitt 8:20 a.m. Sunday, April 29, to work on the Klickitat Trail. This was the start of six work-time hours in sun, blossoms, the ever flowing Klickitat River, and the fragrance of spring. There was a little poison oak and a few ticks, but these were soon forgotten while hiking and playing "Work Party" games.

We played Lop Back blackberry vines, poison oak, and overhanging obstacles. Time was also spent playing in the mud by making a side walk crossing of big rocks, smaller rocks, and gravel. There was the occasional mud splash when placing the rocks into place.
