Dog tied to road sign is identified

FRIENDLY LOST DOG: Luna giving a friendly greeting to a complete stranger on Main Street in Goldendale.

UPDATE: After attempts to contact the owner of Luna, Mabrey discovered that he had passed away more than a year ago and that he was married.

His widow, who is from Waitsburg, Wash. had been in Goldendale cleaning up her late father's house to put it up for sale, says Mabrey. The owner told Mabrey that she drove around looking for her but couldn't find her. It wasn't until Mabrey added the owner to her friends list on Facebook that she knew where Luna was.

The owner and Luna were reunited Tuesday evening.

"Microchipping is so important," added Mabrey, "Only about 20 percent of the dogs that come to the shelter have microchips."

The owner told Mabrey that she still doesn't know how the dog...
