Three-year-old donates hair for sick kids

HAIR FOR KIDS: Aila Chisholm sits in her chair after having 12 inches of her hair cut off to donate for sick children.

Alec Chisholm and his wife Florame Chisholm watched as their daughter Aila got 12 inches cut off her hair by Franny at Hair Affair on June 27. The occasion was special: the three-year-old girl donated her hair to Locks of Love after watching a show about cancer and seeing other little children without any hair.

Aila asked her father why the children didn’t have any hair, and he told her it was because they were sick.

Aila’s grandmother, Judith Chisholm, also donated a ponytail early last year when Florame donated her hair.

The ponytail was 50 years old; Judith had it in her memory chest. Aila and her mother say they will probably donate again in the spring.
