Dallesport fire mostly contained

A fire that closed several miles of Highway 14 Thursday and early Friday morning has been largely contained. As of mid-morning Friday, Highway 14 was open but restricted to one lane between milepost 88 and Horsethief Lake, with some dense smoke still rolling over the road south of the highway (see photo). The grass fire burned more than 100 acres near Dallesport.
As of about 1 p.m. Friday, WSDOT reported that one-lane closures were between milepost 85.5 and 87, with 20-minute delays anticipated.
