Trout Lake Fair gets kids and a wedding

Rides, games, food, and a wedding reception

Equipped with an abundance of baked sales, raffles, family-friendly activities, and the musical talents of the White Salmon Jazz Band, the annual Trout Lake Fair drew the community together once again on Aug. 4.

Nancy Smith and Derek Horne tie the knot at the Fair.

On top of the promise of an afternoon of good entertainment, there the anticipation of an unprecedented event for the fair. In the middle of the parade on Saturday, amidst the toddler-toting tractors and bright red fire engines, Nancy Smith, 38, wed Derek Horne, 42. Horne, son of James Horne and JoAnne Hanson an owner of Parker Drywall and Construction, has roots in Trout Lake, while Smith, daughter of Al and JoAnn Sanders, is originally from White Salmon but now lives in Trout Lake and works at Trout Lake High School. The couple has been together for 12 years and has two daughters, Haley (13) and Nicole (16).

Their reception was held Saturday afternoon during the fair in Trout Lake and was open to the community.
