Macklen Lee Drew, fondly known to friends and family as "Mac Daddy", passed away in Klickitat, Washington July 29, 2012 at the age of 19.
He was born in Goldendale, Washington to Melvin Leslie Drew and Starla Jodene Mead on February 9, 1993. Macklen lived in Klickitat his entire life and was about to start his senior year at Klickitat High School. He loved cooking and wanted to be a chef when he got older. He enjoyed music, particularly Richard Marx, Eminem and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Free Bird was his favorite song. Mac Daddy was a jokester and enjoyed television shows like South Park and King of the Hill. He also liked playing video games, movies, hunting for morel mushrooms and summer.
Mac Daddy will be missed by his mother and stepfather Starla and Danny Phillips of Klickitat; father and stepmother Melvin and Christy Drew of Klickitat; brothers Michael Drew of Long Beach, WA, MaShawn Drew of White Salmon, Shawn Wilkenson of The Dalles, Maverick Drew of Benton City, WA and Zach Ownby of The Dalles; sisters Marcell Stacy of Seattle, WA, Melanie Roberts of Kent, WA, Stephanie Marlow of Klickitat, Carolyn Moore of Lake City, FL, Meghan Mead of The Dalles and Christina Staples of Banning, CA; grandparents Darlene Geider and Myron Mead; Aunt Lonnie, Aunt Billie, Uncle Monty, Uncle Steve; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Macklen's life was held at noon on Sunday, August 5 at the Klickitat School with interment at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Appleton. Gardner Funeral Home handled arrangements.
