Homesteading skills taught at fair in Lyle

Lyle is the place to be this Saturday for the first Northwest Homesteading Fair. The fair will be held at the Lyle Activity Center and park on the north side of SR14 from morning to night.

The Fair is a family event with workshops and vendors covering all aspects of a self-reliant lifestyle. There will be workshops on beekeeping, canning, soap making, cheese making, solar and wind power, growing and using grains, integrating large and small livestock into the farm, making rag rugs, hand quilting, blacksmithing and spinning.

Admission to the event and workshops is free. Food and fun will be part of the event, which organizers hope will become an annual fair.
