Lady Wolves clip the Spartans in 4-3 soccer shootout in Goldendale

WINNING GOAL: Randi Johnson caught the goalie guessing and fired in the winning goal during a shootout in Goldendale.

Goldendale’s soccer team won its second match of the year in a thrilling 4-3 shootout victory over Granger, last week. It was a fitting finish to a match that looked to belong to Goldendale twice in the second half, only to have Granger come back to tie the match and send it into overtime.

The Lady Timberwolves took a 1-0 lead into half time off a Dana McCune goal at the 14 minute mark in an evenly played match. The Timberwolf offense beat the Spartans to the ball throughout the first half and much of the second, keeping the ball on the Spartan side of the field.
