E unum pluribus: 50 new nations where one used to be

In a stunning and bizarre development, all 50 states in the United States of America have seceded from the union.

Aliens landed in Washington, D.C., soon after and demanded of a passer-by, “Take me to your leader.” The confused citizen, not really being sure what he was a citizen of, had no idea where to take the little green fellows. They did sign a secession petition, though.

Some of you are not taking this seriously. Keep reading.

The states in secession haven’t figured out yet what to do, now that there are 50 of them and all of them happen to have been the states in the United States. Presumably each is, for the moment, its own sovereign nation with its own national laws, such...
