Ogden, Lions and Leos team up to provide eye exams and glasses
The Goldendale Lions Club, the Goldendale Leos Club and a generous citizen of Goldendale have, through a team effort, put together an upcoming vision project. Eye exams and glasses will be provided to people who need eye care but do not have any kind of vision insurance and are unable to pay for the services they need.
The Lions Club will screen the patients for eligibility by standards that they have used for many years. The Leos Club, which is a service club of students at Goldendale High School, will do pretesting and some of the clerical work involved in the project. Dr. Ogden will conduct the exams at his office and the cost of the glasses will be covered by a local person who wishes to remain anonymous.
A wholesale eyeglass frame company has given Ogden a large selection of new frames from which patients may choose.
The eye exams will be scheduled on Feb. 16 and 18, which is Presidents’ Day weekend. Applications are available by calling Amy or Janelle at (509) 773-4114. Applications need to be completed and returned to Dr. Ogden’s office by Feb. 10, so the Lions Club committee will have time to review them and schedule appointment times.
