Lady Cougars enter playoffs in a slump

 


It was a tough week for Lyle-Wishram’s girls, first getting beaten by Yakama Tribal 56-37 on Friday, then having to take on Sunnyside Christian who thumped them 73-17 on Saturday. None-the-less, the Lady Cougars are locked into the District 5 playoffs and will get another go at the Lady Eagles on Friday in Mabton.

The hot-shooting Athena Wapsheli knocked down three-point shots to post 25 points in a game that got out of hand early. Yakama Tribal was up by 10 at the end of the first quarter and by 19 at the half. Mandy Solomon was the only bright spot for Lyle-Wishram, scoring 15 points with 16 rebounds.
