HARMONY: The Harmony of the Gorge chorus of Sweet Adelines will perform at the benefit dinner and show to help raise funds for Dr. Ogden’s optometric mission for 2013.

On Saturday, March 2, Dr. James Ogden and the 2013 optometric mission team will present a turkey dinner followed by a floor show at the Goldendale Middle School. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m., and dinner music will be provided by a five-piece orchestra playing tunes from the 1920s to the 1970s.

Following dinner, Harmony of the Gorge, a Sweet Adelines chorus from the mid-Columbia area, will present a program of 1940s and patriotic music. Mary Jo Olson is also scheduled to sing several missionary hymns, and a brief slideshow of previous optometric mission projects will be presented.

There is no admission charge to the event, but a free-will offering will be taken to benefit the 2013 project, which will be in Cambodia and Vietnam. The expenses of the meal have been paid by the team, so all funds received will go 100 percent to the 2013 project.

Free transportation is available from Ogden’s Mopar Limo Service. Call 773-4114 for further information or to arrange a ride.
