To the Editor:

I enjoyed the photo of the timber wolves in your paper. I don’t know where it was taken, but I have argued with the game department for years that wolves were in the Simcoes.

I have seen a pack of five grey wolves twice, once in 2003 east of Cedar Valley Road and south of Pothole Road. I saw some again about four years ago, west of Cedar Valley Road and north of Pine Forest Road. Both times they were digging for mice and gophers.

Another pair used to come in behind my house off Cedar Valley Road every other fall to eat apples. One was a light reddish color. The male, which was grey, was much more cautious, sneaking through the timber and underbrush for an hour or more bef...
