Brown ties Bickleton high jump mark, Pirates top league performance charts

FEELS LIKE TRACK SEASON HAS ARRIVED: The first warm day of spring brought out the best from Bickleton Pirate performers. Jamie Venema passes the baton to Lacy Cannon in the 4x100 relay.

Lindsay Brown cleared 5-feet easily on Saturday to match Katelyn Clinton’s high jump record at Bickleton High School. This was Brown’s second attempt at the record this year, both tries coming at Holder Field at Eisenhower High School, in Yakima. Brown brushed away the bar on three attempts at 5-2, but with this just the second meet of the year, the sophomore seems destined to be sole owner of the record in the near future.

Bickleton was the only area school in action over Easter weekend at the Holder Relays. The event drew a large entry of mostly 3A and 4A schools with Henry Jackson High School, of Everett the overall winner followed by Glacier Peak, of Snohomish, Eisenhower and Nath...
