50 Years Ago – April 25, 1963

• A cache of gems was located in a vacant lot near Layman’s loading dock on East C Street, by children en route home from school. Observed by a workman, who investigated and called police, the children had acquired quite a little haul. Chief of Police Don Kemp said that most of the collection appears to be the sort of thing a little girl might have been given for play things.

75 Years ago – April 21, 1938

• Future husbands of present day Goldendale High School girl graduates will be able to approach their first bridal biscuits without the customary qualms thanks to vocational home economics course now required for all girl students. Part of a natio...
