Split with Rangers keeps Lady Wolves in title hunt

 


The hitters beat the pitchers in a pair of wild games at Naches Valley last week. Goldendale improved their playoff aspirations with a split against the Rangers, leaving the Lady Timberwolves 5-1 in league play.

Goldendale came out swinging with a 7-run first inning on the way to a 15-8 win in the opening game. Karissa Ihrig and Crysta Counts each homered and Kylee Garrigus had one of her best games of the year, going 2-4 with three RBI. Ihrig also hit a double and scored four runs in addition to her three RBI. Counts and Sarah Henderson each had a pair of RBI.
